Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

The platelets within your blood, most commonly used to clot blood, contain hundreds of proteins called growth factors. These are essential in the process of healing within your body. This platelet rich plasma is know to contain a concentration of 5 to 10 times greater than normal.

During PRP therapy, blood is extracted from a patient and then the platelets are separated from the rest of the blood cells and their concentration exponentially grows during the centrifugation process. The increased concentration is then combined with the remaining blood to aid in the expedited healing process when administered correctly.
